Simple probability (FS)

Probability scale 0-1; calculating from equally likely outcomes.

FSM probability is light: probability scale 0 to 1, simple calculations like ‘a coin lands heads’ or ‘a number rolled on a die is even’. Level 2 may extend to two-event problems.

Worked examples
P(rolling 6 on fair die) = 1/6.
P(red ball) from bag with 4 red, 6 blue = 4/10 = 2/5 = 0.4.
P(rolling 2 sixes in a row) = 1/6 × 1/6 = 1/36.

Frequently asked questions

Independent events?
Multiply for AND. The two die rolls are independent.
Probability scale?
0 = impossible, 1 = certain. 0.5 = equally likely either way.
