Practical ratio: paint mixes, recipe scaling, currency conversion. The unitary method (find one unit, scale to required) is the FSM standard approach.
Worked examples
Paint mix 3:5 (red:white). For 8L total: 3L red, 5L white.
Recipe for 4 needs 200g flour. For 6: 200/4 × 6 = 300g.
£100 = €115. £240 = ? 240/100 × 115 = €276.
Frequently asked questions
3-part ratio?
Same logic. Sum the parts; total ÷ sum = 1 part; multiply each ratio by 1 part.

Use the rate given in the question. FSM provides rates; you don't need to know real-time.
