Time and money problems

24-hour clock, durations across midnight, change-from-a-note, currency conversion (basic).

Time problems often involve durations crossing hours or days. Money: budgeting and change. Children should be fluent with 24-hour conversion (15:30 ↔ 3:30 pm).

Worked examples
Train leaves 22:45, arrives 06:15 next day. Duration: 7 h 30 min.
£20 note pays for £14.65 of items: change £5.35.
£1 = €1.15. £50 = ? £50 × 1.15 = €57.50.

12 to 24-hour conversion?
Add 12 to PM times. 3:30 pm = 15:30. AM unchanged (00:00 = midnight).
Calendar problems?
Days of the week recur every 7. 60 days from Tuesday: 60 mod 7 = 4 → Saturday.
