~50-59%: Grade 5 (strong pass)
~40-49%: Grade 4 (standard pass)

Are these official?
No. Real boundaries are published by exam boards in August each year and vary by subject and paper.
Is grade 4 a pass?
Yes for most uses (standard pass). Grade 5 is 'strong pass'. Some sixth-forms require grade 6+ for A-Level entry.
